Toilet-Ek Prem Katha is a film starring Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar,Anupam Kher,Sudhir Pandey in major roles. The film is a satirical comedy on PM Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The film address on sanitation condition with eradication of open defecation in rural areas. In rural areas people don’t have common toilets and this becomes the issue when Keshav(Akshay) marries Jaya(Bhumi). Due to reluctance to defecate in the open. Jaya insist Keshav to build a toilet. Keshav is convinced but his father and Sarpanch plans to demolish toilet. Keshav wakes up in the nick of time and prevents demolition. Jaya files divorce petition due to unavailability of toilet and the media attention makes Government to spring into the action of building toilets in Keshav’s village.After a minor accident of Keshav’s mother his father realizes toilet is indeed critical requirement of household.Grant for retrieving back their divorce case the couple comes out happy and Keshav’s father apologize to Jaya for his foolishness and stubborn attitude. Villagers are seen in queue at mobile toilets.The whole campaign goes on a full swing. The film released on 11 August 2017. With positive message the film was successful at the box-office.
