We all know the radio program aired by Radio Nepal with characters of ‘RAM BILASH’ and ‘DHANIYA’. It featured two finest comic actors ‘DEEPAKRAJ GIRI’ and ‘DEEPA SHREE NIRAULA’. This program got great reviews from the audience for their perfect comic timing from both the actors.Together they have crossed a milestone in entertainment business and come together as hit pair in the film industry and tele-serials broadcasted in Nepal.A son of government officer at Agricultural Development Bank MR.Ram Giri,his dreams about his son was to become an officer like him but destiny had given him a different role to perform.
Earlier he had tried to pursue in health sector and also attempted to join training in the Police Force but he couldn’t find his ambitions in these jobs and moved to Kathmandu where he did radio plays and was given his first break in Dinesh DC’s television program ‘TWAKKA TUKKA’ which eventually opened doors for him as a performer.He acted in popular program called ‘tito satya’ which was not only based on comics but also evoked satire towards the corruption in the political system and its subjugation. The serial was well received for its content and the performances of the lead actors were praised.Tito Satya gave him the deserved rocognition and brought him fame as an artist.
Deepakraj Giri paved an opportunity to act in Nepali movies like ‘Sundar Mero Naam’, ‘CHA EKAN CHA’, ‘WODA NO.6’ ‘CHHAKA PANJA’. His first movie didn’t do well at box office but the films that he produced and acted ‘CHA EKAN CHA’with co-star’DEEPA SHREE NIROULA’ was big success.’CHAKKA PANJA’ is all time blockbuster movie of recent times and its comedy was appreciated by the audience. Deepakraj Giri informs that before marriage to his wife he was a failure as his academic background was not very strong. He completed his SLC after few setbacks. His marriage was fruitful for him because the support he received brought him name and fame in his future endeavors.His popularity was boosted up by the 100 days record of highest grossing film’ Chakka Panja’with ‘Deepa Shree’ where he was praised in the song ‘SURKE THAILI KHAI’.
Deepakraj Giri takes inspirations and motivation from his life gurus.He gives time for meditation and spiritualism. His idols are Haribansha Acharya, Madan Krishna Shrestha,Santosh Panta,Madan Das,Late Deepak Koirala and Guru Binod Ananda.He is obliged to his classmates during his schooling, teachers who trained him and his friends in life.He wants to extend his heartfelt gratitude to the fans and the public who has made him the person he wanted to be.DeepakRaj Giri has received affinities from his co-actors, directors and producers for his contributions in the Nepali Cinema.Giri,is an accomplished comic actor of his generation and well received.
