Chocolate is an entertaining social drama film by Poojana Pradhan, Keshav Bhattarai. This film is the directorial debut of comic- actor Nirmal Sharma. The film is about the poor orphaned street children with their leader Chocolate played by Poojana Pradhan who is making her debut on silver screen with this movie.The story basically shows the life of street children their struggles and problems they have to go through to earn a meal once in a day for living. They live on streets and beg for money to every passerby some being generous but most being arrogant and very rude.
Chocolate is very attached with the orphaned children. She meets a character called Kavir while begging for food and she finds that he is a very generous and a kind hearted soul. He is a son of wealthy businessman and is also the head of his company.One day, accidentally Chocolate is hit by a running car whose driver is Kavir himself she gets injured and rushed to the hospital to find that she has amnesia and no longer recall past events and people. She behaves like a child even though she is a grown up girl. Kavir looks after them and brings home for care and protection but doesn’t go well in his Parents eyes who wants to marry their son to Kavya, the daughter of his father’s business associate. Kavir is helping and caring them all the way and this makes Kavya very jealous and tries to break the bond of compassion.She hires a contract killer to take Chocolate away from Kavir. Chocolate is lured by the killers into their trap and thrown from the top of an abandoned building. Kavir knows about the conspiracy from the children’s gang and he reaches to the spot but gets hurt from the blow on his head by the villains. Both are hospitalized where Chocolate manage to recover and get normal but Kavir gets more critical.The gang meet together and after the reunion Chocolate is told about Kavir and how he had devoted his life to her recovery from the mishap and provided home and comfort. Chocolate and the gang rush to hospital where all the cast have gathered around unconscious Kavir and his condition.Chocolate is seen wailing for Kavir’s recovery and touches his finger. Kavir is seen regaining consciousness and entire family witnesses how Kavir and Chocolate were meant to be for one another. Then they life happily together finally and Kavya backs out from her relationship.Acting and screenplay is the main highlight. Poojana has made an impact from her performance and the concept is also very good. Supporting casts also does well in the film and direction by Sharma is crisp and the message given by the movie is very impressive.
